Klang Games has announced it raised $8.5M in Series A funding to support the development of Seed, their upcoming MMO based on Improbable’s platform, SpatialOS.

The lead investor in this new round is Northzone, a European-based VC focused on investments in key regional technology hubs.

Klang had announced $5M in funding back in March of this year with investment from Makers Fund, Greylock Partners, Mosaic Ventures, London Venture Partners, Riot Games, Neoteny, Novator, Firstminute Capital, Makers Fund.

Klang Games was founded in 2013 by ex-CCP executives in  Reykjavík, Iceland. It has since moved it’s offices to Berlin, Germany. Previous investment has come from Joi Ito, Reid Hoffman, David Helgason, London Venture Partners, Adalsteinn Alli Ottarsson
